Agneepath Movie Review & Ratings :- Catch the Bollywood Flavor

Any person, who has viewed the original Agneepath starring the stalwart Amitabh Bachchan, will surely try to find resemblances between the two movies. But, this Agneepath is a remake, which has been handled extremely carefully. The plot and storyline is the same, but there have been few changes made and the tricks have triumphed in making the movie successful.

Cast of Agneepath

Hrithik Roshan plays the role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan; Sanjay Dutt is just awesome as Kancha Cheena, Rauf Lala played by the veteran actor Rishi Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra as Kali. The character of Rauf Lala was not there in the original version. Infact the role of Krishnan Iyer played by Mithun Chakraborty was omitted in this Agneepath. Roles by Zarina Wahab, Om Puri and other actors have nothing very intense in them.

Plot and the storyline and performance of the actors

The best part about this Agneepath is that it is more of a tribute to the original than a complete remake of the original. The story starts in the small village of Mandwa, where Vijay’s father was a school teacher and was killed mercilessly by Kancha Cheena. Vijay grows up with a burning fire of revenge within him. In the process he meets Rauf Lala, who is an underworld don dealing with drug and human trafficking. Rauf becomes Vijay’s godfather and helps him in reaching Kancha Cheena. Vijay’s life ends after killing Cheena for his doings.

Agneepath Movie

Rishi Kapoor as Rauf Lala has excelled beyond expectations. With kohl eyes and unrefined and rough dialogues, the character leaves great impact on the audience. Sanjay Dutt as Kancha Cheena has overpowered all the characters and created a new baddie in the film industry. The bald head and the black dress with the beastly laugh of Dutt will make audience shudder at times. The image created is that of brutality and beastliness and that is what the character portrays. Hrithik as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan has tried his best to do justice to the role. However, at times he is overpowered by the persona and brutality of Dutt. Priyanka Chopra as Kali has nothing much to do.

Direction, music and other things in Agneepath

Director Karan Malhotra has done his best in getting the best acting out of the actors. All veterans, it was quite a difficult task, but he managed it quite well. In some places there is astounding similarity with the original. Music by Ajay-Atul is good, particularly the background scores. Dialogues, editing, cinematography are worth appreciation.

Agneepath will get 3.5/5 rating for the strong performances and for the wonderful direction.
