Delhiites facing heavy traffic due to CWG trails

Delhiites are facing a really bad time reaching the places on time as the city police is busy conducting trails on Commonwealth Games lanes even during the peak traffic hours. These rehearsals are performed on four stretches for about two hours that throws traffic out of gear for several hours.

The trails were done on Ring Road NH 24 to Ghazipur Crossing, Chandgi Ram Akhada to Mall Road, and various other routes including SPM Panchsheel, Mother Teresa Crescent and RML.

The police had also to abort some plans for conducting these trails during peak hours in the evening because of heavy rains in the city. These trails are done during the peak hours in order to know the impact of move once the lances come into actual effect on 20th September 2010.

The rehearsals are actually meant to make the commuters familiarize regarding the traffic pattern and movement during CWG. Moreover, general public has been recommended to avoid the CWG lanes as far as possible including the Sardar Patel Marg, Safdurjung Road, Purana Qila Road, Siri Fort Road, Panchsheel Marg and Harsukh Marg to name a few. There are two lanes i.e. one carriageway and the other for Games related traffic.
