India v/s Sri Lanka – 2nd Test Match Preview

The much awaited second test match between India and Sri Lanka kicks off tomorrow in Kanpur. After the action packed first test match in which both teams played good, all-round cricket, either sides will be looking forward to be off the mark for the first time in the series.

Meanwhile injuries victimized both teams during the first test which raised question marks about the fitness 110257.2condition of players to participate in this match. Indian captain MS Dhoni suffered a finger injury while the first match was taking place in Ahmadabad. In a state of emergency the team brought wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik as replacement for the former. However latest news stats that the skipper is fully fit to play in tomorrow’s match as he was spotted at the Green Park without any taped fingers or looking injurious. He was back in the training nets, batting his full quota and looking thoroughly fit. Dinesh Karthik, as a result will now head back to Dharamshala join his Tamil Nadu teammates for tomorrow’s Ranji Trophy match against Himachal Pradesh.

Tillakaratne Dilshan of Sri Lanka, on the other hand suffered a nose fracture while playing football during a practice session after he collided with one of his teammates shortly after the first match, sources said. He was taken to the hospital immediately where an X-Ray revealed the same. However the centurion in the first test may still be able to make it to the match as he seems to be recovering fast.

India will now retain Harbhajan Singh and Amit Mishra in the spin bowling department for the match. The batting lineup will most probably see no changes. The Kanpur pitch, as sources say will be more bowler friendly as compared to the one in Ahmadabad test where we saw a dead rubber flat track which was heaven for batsmen and offered nothing to the bowlers who as a result conceded more than 1500 runs in just 3 innings.
