Summary:

Jai Ho is the typical Salman Khan movie. It is just a onetime watch film which the Salman fans would die for. As for the other section of movie watchers, this movie might disappoint you a bit.

Jai Ho hit the movie theatres today and has got mixed reactions from the critics, commentators and audiences. As for the masses, most of them have given a thumbs up. Jai Ho is a political drama that narrates the story of Jai Agnihotri, a military man and his family.

The Sohail Khan directed movie is the remake of Stalin, a hit Telugu film that was actually inspired by Pay It Forward, a Hollywood flick. Sticking to original story as well as theme, Dilip Shukla the screenplay writer of Jai Ho has done some changes to the film to suit the Hindi audiences. He has thus added some more actors and entertainment in the film.

The movie revolves around the life of the military man who is suspended but he has the same patriotic feelings for his country. His single motive is to help people and make the whole world a better place to be. Jai creates nationwide movement through convincing people to help others and who must in turn help some more people.Jai Ho

But unlike Salman Khan’s earlier movies, Jai Ho is not the typical entertaining movie. In Jai Ho, the dialogues are pretty much simple and they connect with general masses. Action sequences are shot very well and cinematography is nice and clean.

Star performances

Salman Khan delivers great performance in the movie. When we compare his acting with his performances in other earlier roles, his role in Jai Ho is surely different. He is there to rock his fans and audiences with his new style. Other actors such as Daisy Shah, Sunil Shetty, Tabu, Danny, Sana Khan, Genelia, Nadira Babbar, Ashmit Patel, Naman Jain and others have also done good to their roles. Daisy Shah doesn’t actually give the feeling of a heroine and is just okay.

Indeed, there is no shortage of talented as well as not so talented actors in this movie. There are in fact a lot of characters in this extended family of Sohail Khan than in Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Hum Saath Saath Hain. The whole galaxy of actors in the film has the aim to extol unending virtues of the one man army- Jai Agnihotri.

The film in short, fails to wholly ennoble itself beyond what contours of the movie script actually holds for it. Lacking quirky fun of the super hit movie Dabangg, Jai Ho just furthers the Being Human status of Salman Khan. But still, it scores over other works of Salman Khan for its capacity to translate the simmering anger of the common man into a satisfying and positive climax.

Final Verdict

While the diehard fans and loyalists of Salman Khan may hoot and applaud, it is just an average movie for the actual movie watchers who like real cinema. It is just a onetime watch. Would like to give 2.5 to the movie and the extra half a star for the actual star in the movie- Salman Khan.
