Jhootha Hi sahi gave all false hopes – Movie Review

This new John Abraham starrer looked really promising on the surface and because of a lot of good reasons. First, it’s an Abbas Tyrewala film, the same man who gave us Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and one seriously can’t get enough of watching that film. Secondly, the cast looked appealing with John Abraham in a new look as the male lead and a fresh female face (Paki), who is also the director’s wife, playing the main lead.

The very famous Raghu from roadies and a couple of other cast members gave the impression that this is going to be The Film of the year, especially after I Hate Love Story, Aisha and Anjaana Anjaani did not meet up to the expectation.

But as it appears, the year 2010 is jinxed for Bollywood as Jhootha hi Sahi also proved to be torturously boring. The plot revolves around a book store operator (John) who is very nerdy and shy and gets all jittery while talking to females. He unwittingly finds himself playing the role of a suicide counselor when his number gets advertised under the column of suicide helpline.

One day the cupid struck and Mishka, (Paki) called John and our dude distracted her from committing suicide and with increased calls, they got to know each other in a better way. meanwhile, John met her personally and started dating her without revealing to her that he is his midnight suicide counselor. What follows is a series of ludicrously monotonous situations that will not amuse you at all. All the other characters who are John’s friends crack jokes that don’t even merit smirk.

The music is not great and go for this 2 out 5 rated movie only if you have a very great reason to do so.
