Obama’s Agenda & Schedule on India’s Visit

This time the world will eye on fostering bilateral relations between two countries, India and USA. The political atmosphere is charged with speculations that Barack Obama, during his first presidential tour to India, will land here with some political agendas, most importantly the fostering cooperation in counter terrorism and economic partnership between two nations.

On November 6

During his first tour to India, he will be scheduled to address select gathering at Taj Hotel. The president will give his tribute speech to the departed souls who were killed in deadly Mumbai terror attack.

Thereafter, he would visit to Gandhi Museum where he would pay homage to Nation’s Father, Mahatma Gandhi.

He would participate in three events at the US-India Business Council summit. A round-table dialogue with industrialists, then, he would meet with CEOs of US corporations and after that, he would address honchos.

On November 7

He would celebrate “Diwali” in a Mumbai school.

He would visit to Town Hall where he would deliver speech on Indo-US ties by addressing the University student gatherings.

Back in Delhi, he would make a cultural visit to Humayun’s Tomb.

After that, president Obama with his wife First Lady Michelle Obama will participate in a private dinner with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur.

On November 8

The US president would pay a visit to Rajghat. Thereafter, he will receive a ceremonial welcome from India’s president Pratibha Patil.

Bilateral dialogue between two nations, led by Obama and Singh will be held. Followed by the bilateral talks, they would address joint press conference.

Obama to meet Vice-President External Affairs Minister Hamid Ansari, Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj.

Obama will address a joint session of Parliament in the afternoon.

End of the tour. He would fly to Jakarta in the morning.
