Places to visit in Ahmadabad

Situated on banks of river Sabarmati, Ahmadabad city is the real portrait of palaces and monuments that hold great historic importance. Sabarmati Ashram

Around 7 kilometers from centre of the town, this was the headquarters of Gandhiji during his struggle for the Indian independence. The ashram was founded in the year 1915 and it still produces handmade paper, spinning wheels and handicrafts. The Spartan living of Gandhiji is preserved in the small museum at the ashram and there is pictorial record of main events of his life as well.

This museum of yarn, textiles and fabric was established in the year 1949 consequent to meticulous efforts of Gira Sabarmati. It is a must visit spot in Ahmadabad.

Kankaria Lake
