Summary:

Sholay 3D is grandeur remade with a modern touch. For those who want to relive and feel their most loved characters of bollywood this is a must watch.

If you are someone who was more impressed by the movie posters than present day movie trailer promotions then you must understand the feel of reliving those old days. I am sure almost every one of us who has grown up watching mega stars on screen re-release of Sholay in 3D is a boon. This was the film that made ‘Jai-Veeru’, which bought Dhanno into existence for eternity and gave dialogues that are spoken like legend tails. This Friday Ramesh Sippy’s epic directorial 80’s mega block buster Sholay is released in 3D.

For those who always wanted to feel the characters of this movie in close proximity, this is the opportunity to do so. After 39 years of fan following and numerous awards on its name there is nothing one can point on the story or the plot of the film.  Here it’s nothing to do about the storyline, performances, dialogues and songs they all are engraved for their excellence in history of bollywood. Instead what addition of new technology has done to Sholay is what’s being reviewed.sholay

Sholay in 3D

First talking about the heart of this movie the action sequences and battle between Jai-Veeru and Gabbar Singh. Making use of 3D techniques the action sequences of this flick are rejuvenated and heightened. It will provide you unprecedented sense of thrill and fun. Appreciable work is done in amending the color into digital reprints making scenes sharp and clearer.

Watching old days Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra in 3D will give you goose bumps. Tossing of coin between Jai and Veeru is another anchoring spot of re-release. Hema Malini’s adorable and innocent look is relived however in some places her dress colors mismatch in 3D effect. The most delighting factor is to look at Gabbar Singh in 3D avatar. Amjad Khan’s immortal wickedness, expressions and dialogue delivery is all restored in this version as well.

A revisit for sure

Sholay 3D is not just a movie to sooth and entertain yourselves. It’s a much more of an experience of what actually grandeur cinema is and what legends bollywood has produced. Beginning the year with character and traits of this millennium movie, you will sure feel alive.
